Consulting is a contract-based interaction in which an expert practitioner provides direct guidance and input to another practitioner to help them transform their work with clients, their practice, or agency. For example, a consultee who is a licensed mental health provider might be stuck in their work with a client and meet with a consultant to gain new skills and competency.
Counseling, on the other hand, is a relationship in which a therapist, who is a licensed mental health provider, works with an individual, couple, or family to help them resolve psychological problems or meet their desired goals.

EMDR is a form of therapy that has been shown to be effective in helping people who have experienced trauma. EMDR therapy is based on the idea that sometimes stressful or traumatic events are stored in the brain in a way that keeps the event unresolved. EMDR helps clients to process past events and the effect those events have on them so that they can live a more connected and symptom free life.
